![]() ![]() Referring to the second question: I am flattered to hear that you think I have studied jazz! God I wish! I could never afford it so I ended up studying something completely else but self-taught every element myself to reach to this level. The MOTIF XF8 uses a BH (balanced hammer) keyboard with 88. But remember that this is just my personal opinion and experience I have. As weighted keybeds go, the balanced hammer action keybed on the Montage 8 feels high quality. Not just the sound quality but the mapping (with different action) is perfect! As I said this is the main reason I got the Nord because no other electric piano has such an amazing sound for recordings. One important thing to note: the piano samples from the Nord library are the best imho. But I am so used to it by now that I can’t complain about it at all. But I do really enjoy playing the Nord and recording with it! If you focus on recording and live gigs, I would definitely go for the Nord if you can compromise for a comparably worse keybed. Thanks for checking out my videos! Appreciate that! Yes, for recordings I would definitely recommend it, but of course this works for me and it doesn’t automatically mean it will work for you too. You can sort of have your cake and eat it too, if you prefer NORDS library, by getting their GRAND, which uses a Kawai action. ![]() The NORD Stage will have a much more fleshed out synth engine then those Yamahas, but not as deep as the Montage. Clav, Yamaha doesnt have all the pickup position combinations. Acoustic, its tough, CP/YC I think has no string resonance modeling, NORD does. ![]() Rhodes, Nord for sure is really great sounding. Yamaha has, I think, the best Wurli sampleset with the CP/YC line, of anyone. Yamaha Montage or MODx will let you download 3rd party sample packs, but they dont have the same kind of interface as the CP/YC. Nord has a library, though, where the CP and YC line dont, they just have the options they have, and perhaps some more coming out at some point, but NORD lets you download your preferences from a pretty good sized collection. CP and YC series have great interfaces, as does every Nord. Yamah has multi-samples for a wider variety of sounds, such as mallet instruments. Korg T3 Nord Keyboard Rental Nord Lead Nord Electro 2 - 73 key Nord Electro 3. Yamahas higher end, hands down has the better weighted action then either of those Nords.
